Google Business Profile Tip #5: Stop Losing Visibility by Keeping Your Name, Address, and Phone Consistent

Your business name, address, and phone number must match everywhere online, including your Google Business Profile.

Even small differences can create problems. For example:
Using “Street” in one place and “St.” in another
Adding extra keywords to your business name
Using different phone numbers across directories
Google compares your information across the web. If it finds inconsistencies, it may reduce trust in your listing. This is known as consistency. When your details match across directories, citations, and your website, your profile is stronger.
Here is what to do:
Search your business name and phone number in Google.
Open the top listings that mention your company.
Confirm that your name, address, and phone number match exactly.
If they do not, corrections should be made. Inconsistent information can quietly reduce your visibility over time.
We understand that tracking down outdated listings and correcting them can be tedious. Many business owners do not even know where their information is listed.
iBP Marketing audits and corrects business listing inconsistencies as part of our Google Business Profile management services. If you suspect your information is not aligned everywhere, we can identify and fix it for you.
